hi,
Is it possible to install Iplanet Web Logic Plug-in running Solaris platform and
WebLogic Server running Linux platform. The BEA weblogic would be 8.1 server.
Similarly does it work for the nodemanagers running same weblogic versions but
different OS platform?

Yes. Your example configuration would use HTTP (TCP/IP, OSI/Layer 7)
as its means of communication.

Yes, once again. Why should WebLogic Server's NodeManager need to
worry about the OS platform?
