Does any know if you can install the BEA WebLogic software on the new Panther 10.3.3
software by Apple. We are using Xserve boxes and preparing to get the new G5
boxes. We are seeking to put up a portal on the Apple technology. Any constructive
comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Clint,

We don't officially support Mac OS (as you can see from http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/certifications/)
but there is a generic installer available which can work on other platforms.
You can give it a try. Whether or not WebLogic Server will start depends on how
compatible is the Mac OS's JVM. You can however turn off native code when starting
WLS.

Goos luck and best regards,

Where could I find the generic installer download? I am also interested in installing
WLS on a Mac OS X machine.

Thanks
Pedro
