This line in the core looks suspicious:

2XHUSERLIMIT RLIMIT_NOFILE : infinity

WLS does not tolerate unlimited ulimit -n.

Were you using startWebLogic.sh created by the config wizard? Asked
because generated scripts set ulimit -n to 1024/1025.
