Certificate Import Error

When we try and import a cert from a jks file we get this.

java.security.cert.CertificateException: DerInputStream.getLength(): lengthTag=109, too big.

The cert and file seem good in all other regards. Has anyone seen this before

We are on WLS 8.1 sp2 on Solaris and trying to add SSL to a WLI app
