Hi

I have recently installed weblogic 8.1 SP5 on Windows XP professiona
SP2.

The installation is without errors.

When I create a basic server from the configuration wizard and start
it, I can see it started in the commnd line console of windows. It says
that the server is listening on the default port 7001.

But actually when I try to access the weblogic administration console
by doing http://localhost:7001/console in internet explorer, it gives
error server not found.

When I try to stop the server using stopWeblogic.cmd, it says
destination unreachable.

It means that actually server is not starting.

Has anyone encountered the same problem or know the problem & solution
of this?

Please reply ASAP.

Thanks & Regards

Manish

Chk and see if the port is open. XP has build-in firewall settings that
'might' block the port. Best check is to run netstat -an and see if the
7001 is open.
