Author Licensing questions (IP Address)

Hello all,
I have a question about licensing. I haven't found the answer in the
documentation, because it only says:

"
Production License
------------------
A production license allows unlimited connections and development for
an unrestricted period of time, for a specific IP address.
"

The IP address in the licence.bea file refer to the server's "Listen
Address"?

In a machine with multiple instances listening on more than one IP
address I need a licence for each of these IPs or the Weblogic server
checks if there's a NIC on the machine with the licenced IP?

If the "Listen Address" is 'any' on which IP the license must be tied
against?

Thanks for the response.

P.S. Why these answers are not present in the official documentation?
:-(

The IP address refers to the IP address of the machine. If you have a
machine with two NIC's then the machine has two IP's.

Many thanks for your response.

I have found this bea forum message also:
http://forums.bea.com/bea/message.j...017731&tstart=0

It says that the "java utils.myip" commad gives the IP used by Bea
Weblogic Server to be checked against the one present in license.bea.
So if you have a host with multiple IPs no matters if you have multiple
WebLogic servers that listens on different ports: it is sufficient to
have the licensed IP configured on the machine.

In my research I've also found that utils.myip retrieves the IP
associated with the hostname DNS name (in Unix environments).
