Site Server General - problem searching

Hi,
We've just moved our intranet site to a new server and
I have been asked to index the new site, the indexing and
everything worked fine. But the problem is when an
ordinary user tries to perform a text-based search, no
results are returned, but when a user that is in the local
admin group on the site server box, the search returns
hundreds of results.
The only difference now is that the old intranet server
was sitting on windows NT server whereas the new one is
windows 2003 server. Have I missed something, thanks for
your help.
