I'm getting "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" exception
when the security session of the logged in person expired and the user
redirected to the login page. The stack gives me only the method name.

STACK TRACE: at Newsletter.Articles.Articles1.Page_Load(Object sender,
EventArgs e)

How to avoid that exception in coding? I'm checking the User.Identity object
if it is null or not before using it in my code.

How to check if the user is logoff ? is there specified event fired when the
user is logged off?
