| Hi!
This question might sound a little "stupid", but I have to check if
someone else has experienced this problem.
Well, on our CMS-site a channel has disappeared from both the channel
tree and the "deleted channels"-folder. No one of the involved are
sure that they haven't deleted the channel. And as I see it, no one
could have deleted it "by mistake". I mean, it's a pretty small chance
that you delete a channel both from the channel tree and the "deleted
items" by mistake.... The "deleted items"-folder is by the way full of
other channels and postings.
Have anyone experienced this before? Please let me know in that case.
By the way, what is the best approach to restore specific objects (for
example a channel) in MCMS? I know that there are backups of the
MCMS-database made, but how should we do to restore just the missing
channel? Should we restore the database to a new database and then
point the DCA to the new database and then export the missing channel
from site manager?
Well, thanks for any help!

| Hi Oscar,
deleting using shift-delete would suddenly delete the item without moving it
to the deleted items folder.
If you have an backup you should do the following:
- restore the database to a new location.
- connect a MCMS server to this database (can be your development server)
- export the channel to an SDO package
- import the SDO to your production site.
Cheers,
Stefan.
