Question For Angus Logan - CMS Plus Pack
|

| Angus,
I previously emailed you with a couple of questions on the CMS Plus
Pack and i wondered if you would mind me asking a couple more. I'll
post them here in the news group for the benefit of others.
Taking your advice regarding access to the help file which was "You
should download the installer, install it (it dosen't do anything
apart from register the assemblies) and then look in the MSIB Plus
Pack SDK;"
I have done this and i am now awaiting a license key which i have
applied for.
Could i also ask:
1. What type of support is their avaialable for this pack.
2. I mentioned before that it was the content audit feature that we
were initially interested in. This is linked to SQL Reporting
Services. This is something i am unfortunately unfamiliar with. What
is involved in the use of SQL RS? (i have ran the sql script to set-up
the MSIBContentAuditing database on my local machine).
3. Is using this pack as simple as adding the tools to visual studio,
using them in your project and then deploying the application(s) to
your site?
4. Is there any server side installation required?
Hopefully once i get a license i can have a play and get a feel for
how it works.
I will be on a course the rest of this week so if you post and i don't
reply that will be the reason. Thanks in advance.
Regards

| Hi George,
> 1. What type of support is their avaialable for this pack.
---- There are several support options avail. but... the CMS Plus Pack is
going 'open source'. But there are currently a few support options:

---- You should check out www.microsoft.com/sql/reporting/

----- Yes - you just add the controls to your toolbox then you just drag
then onto your templates.
> 4. Is there any server side installation required?
----- Yes, you need run the installer and run the license key input because
it adds a registry key.
