Author 404 error when tring to Import SDO

Hi all,
It's me again, I just tried to import a SDO file which is 3xM from my
development server to production server. However I faced that a 404 error
when importing.
I have done the following three things which mentioned in FAQ

1.. Check that the "rdonlyres" folder within /NR virtual directory is a
virtual directory and not a physical folder (the icon needs to be a folder
with a small globe in the lower right edge). If it is a physical folder
create a new virtual directory below /NR with name "rdonlyres" which points
to "\program files\microsoft content management server\server\rdonlyres".

2.. If this is Windows Server 2003 please check the Microsoft Internet
Information Server (IIS) log file. If the error you receive is a 404.3 then
you need to add a mime-type for the .SDO file to the /NR/rdonlyres
directory.

IIS 6.0 no longer supports files which do not have a mime-type assigned.
The mime-type needs to be configured as follows:

Extension: .sdo
MIME type: application/x-mcmscontentpackage

3.. If this is Windows Server 2003 please also ensure that ASP.NET is set
to "allowed" in the IIS MMC in the Web Service Extensions section.
So what else could I try to trouble shoot this?

Hi,

Can you check your IIS logs for 404 errors (and what URLs are requested)?

Regards

Hi Choihead,

please download filemon from www.sysinternals.com and run the import again.
watch for all file not found errors shown up in the filemon trace to check
whats going on.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Hi Choihead,

these are not related to site deployment.
Please look for requests to /MCMS and /NR.

Cheers,
Stefan.
