Author Auto-Approve Expired Posting in Channel CMS 2001

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to write a script that
approves an expired posting/page in a channel/folder in CMS 2001?

I have postings expire and move to another folder, and I need to somehow
write a script to tell those postings in the new folder to approve after they
move so that they can be viewed without anyone manually having to approve
them.

I have been thinking over this issue and I can't think of a way to do this.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

just use the script that moved the posting and do a posting.Approve() call.
This will do the job.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Thanks for your reply.

The script to move the page/posting is automatically done
in CMS 2001. Is there anywhere else I could insert that
call? I am not sure what could trigger it since the expire
and move feature is automated.

Ah, I see.
No you would have to run this as an ASP page.
You could trigger a program using Task scheduler that does a request against
the ASP script and this ASP script then approves all items in the specific
channel.

Cheers,
Stefan.
