Author Use GMT Display for setting up time of start/stop publishing

Hi,

It seems that time setting of start/stop publishing for web content in CMS
2002 now is based on the local time. Is there any way to display it in
GMT+(-)hour format since our client is a global company and the users may
come from any of its branches in the world.

Hi Jeffrey,

start and end publishing date is always based on UTC and not on local time.
If you get it displayed in local time then most likely your server is not
configured to the correct timezone.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for reply. But I can't really get you.
What you meant is the date shown in the calendar in page properties is
displayed baed on the date that is set on the OS (e.g. Windows Server 2003),
and the date is set in UTC?

Sorry maybe I am not that technical to misuderstand you. Where can I begin
to check first?

Hi Jeffrey,

UTC is the universal time zone. The time in the property page needs to be
entered and is displayed in UTC.
Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Stefan

Thanks Stefan!

So assume that our CMS is located at Taiwan and one of the Authors from the
States logs onto the system. When he's trying to set the start/end publishing
date, if the data he enters is "Date: January 1st" (which is selected from
the calendar next to the Date field), and "Time: AM 10:00" (which is
mannually input), the time is US time AM 10:00 or Taiwan time AM 10:00 ?

Hi Jeffrey,

I expect it to be UTC time - means GMT without daylight savings time.

Cheers,
Stefan.
