Author cms guest access after upgrade

Greetings,

We just upgraded our web site from CMS2001 to CMS2002 SP1a, on Windows 2000
in mixed mode. Integrated Windows authentication is enabled in IIS and this
site is set to read/write, using host header mapping. All of our templates
are still in ASP though I'm not sure if this is relevant to the question.

When we browse the site, for some reason our site automatically
authenticates users and we browse the site in authenticated mode (like a web
author would see it, even if that user browsing the site does not have
permissions in the CMS user list.) All our channels have Guest Access
subcriber role enabled.

Why is this happening? Can anyone please advise what is wrong?

Hi Hati,

if the users does not have author rights or higher, then you will not see
the console.
So the user is in one of the roles (either directly or in a AD/NT group that
is added to the role).

If guest access does not work, then there are a couple of reasons:
- anonymous access is not enabled or does not work (can happen if the
IUSR_account password is wrong)
- the guest account has not been assigned to all resource galleries,
template galleries and channels (common after upgrade from CMS 2001 as
subscriber rights for resource galleries and template galleries is new in
CMS 2002)

Cheers,
Stefan.
