Author Edit the Posting Custom Property allowed values?
PV

I am building an interface to edit the list of allowed values for a
template's custom properties. I can find a method for adding an allowed
value, but I can't seem to find anything on updating or deleting a specific
value that already exists. The only other method is to delete all the
allowed values. Am I expected to delete them, and re insert the correct
ones?

Also, it would be nice if I change an allowed value (say from upper case to
lower case) if all the postings would still point to the same value in the
list. Is that possible?

Hi PV,

there seems not to be a method to delete a single item in the collection.
You would have to delete all and add the other items again.
When a posting uses the Default value, then the change in the template is
reflected.
But for any value different from the default the value is being copied into
the posting and will not get changed when changing the template property
defintion.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Any idea what problems could arise when a posting has potentially different
custom properties than those allowed by the template custom property
definitions?

Hi PV,

no problems out of the box.
The actual value will no longer be in the allowed values box - so when
updating the page properties you might be required to change the value
before you could save it.
But I haven't tried.

Cheers,
Stefan.
