ANNOUCEMENT
=========================

Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 Connector for SharePoint
Technologies (Spark) released to the web 02/02/04.

This can be downloaded from:

http://www.microsoft.com/cmserver/d...downloads/share
pointconnector

Links to online copies of the documentation (ReadMe, Installation Guide and
Product Help file) can be found on the above page. Localized editions of
MCMS Connector for SharePoint Technologies (German, French & Japanese) are
scheduled to RTW later this quarter.

PRODUCT FEATURES
=========================

For those who are not familiar with Spark this product provides the
following features of both CMS and SPS:

+ Publishing MCMS 2002 content within a SharePoint Portal Server portal
This feature relies on special purpose web parts that can be used to view
the content of a single MCMS channel, or view MCMS pages waiting for
approval or that the user has in production. This feature also includes
the option of tying your CMS site to SPS by using special purpose templates
sharing the SharePoint look and feel.

+ Publishing SharePoint library content to MCMS 2002 sites
This feature consists of the custom SharePoint library placeholder server
control and object, which allows any MCMS author with rights to the
SharePoint libraries on the same server to attach them to an MCMS page and
display them with their SharePoint properties, as an attached link or, for
XML documents, with their content rendered inline.

+ Using the SharePoint Portal Server search service to search MCMS 2002
sites
This feature consists of three server controls, one for search input, one
for displaying search results and one for outputting MCMS standard and
custom page properties as Meta tags for advanced property searching, as
well as sample data containing a sample search results page.

Luke [MSFT]
