Editing ASP Templates in CMS
|

| Hi,
I have recetnly upgraded CMS2001 to 2002 but am sticking with and ASP
based site for now as we need site stager. I notice when authoring
that placeholders have lost their dimensions (I used to use the DHTML
PlaceHolder mode).
I can no longer edit the placeholder properties through site manager,
so how do I change the height and width of a placeholder for an ASP
template?
Thanks,
Matt.

| Hi Matt,
you could open the ASP template in a normal ASP editor like frontpage and
modify the template here.
Cheers,
Stefan.

| Thanks Stefan,
Could I update all the ASP template files on a development server and
then just upload them to the exeres folder of the live server and
overwrite the existing one's in one go? Or do I have to edit each
template on the live server? Obviously the latter would result in some
downtime.
Thanks again,
Matt.

| Hi Matt,
if you are only updating the look and feel then you can do exactly this.
If you need to add or remove placeholders then you will have to open VS.NET
on the server (or run a custom script) to maintain the Template Gallery
Item.
Cheers,
Stefan.
