I would like to set up an environment where multiple developers can work on
different parts of an MCMS template simultaneously.

i.e. there are several applications built into the vb.NET template, and the
developers want to work on their parts at the same time.

Currently we are doing this in ASP using server.execute and <!--
#include --> directives, but I want to move to .NET and leverage the ability
to put all of the applications into the template as controls.

However, VS .NET 2003 does not allow you to run an MCMS enabled site on a
remote computer -- the only way is to have each developer having a separate
copy of the template on their local machine. This would cause tons of grief
trying to maintain the latest up to date changes on each developers machine.

Has anyone tried doing this? Is this feasible? Can Visual Source Safe or
other app handle this type of situation?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

it is recommended to use Visual Source Safe.
Then every developer can check-in/check-out the templates and only one major
version exists.
VSS will ensure that always the latest version is synchronized to the client
machine.

Cheers,
Stefan.
