| Can you host multiple site using MCMS SP1a with different
IP address and access it by root URL
I tried it but always display "Page not found"
i create one application
/cmssite , it is in http://localhost --> ip address
10.61.4.39 so if i access it using
http://localhost/cmssite, it display perfectly
now, i want to access using http://cmssite instead, i
create web site from iis and map it to localhost/cmssite
and using 10.61.4.38 And it display page not found or not
exist.
I have look documentation about this, but it always refer
to "Map Channel Names to Host Header Names" which is
disabled in my case because i'm using MCMS Sp1a not
Enterprise Edition
Any help would be appreciated
Thx a lot
Daniel

| Hi Daniel,
yes it is possible - although it is not necessary to have different IP
addresses.
Check out the "map channel to host header names".
This will do what you are looking for.
Cheers,
Stefan.

| That's the problem, i'm not using MCMS Enterprise Edition
where 'map chanel to host header names' enabled. I'm using
MCMS 2002 Standard Edition SP1a, where that option is
disabled.
Is there anyway i could do it without using map channel to
host header names. It doesn't matter if i need to use
multiple ip address as long i could host the site from
root url.
Anyway thx Stefan for your respond.

| Hi Daniel,
Standard editon does not provide this feature.
That's one of the reasons why SE is so cheep compared with EE.
If SE would contain all features of EE then there would be no reason for the
small price. ;-)
So the answer to your question: with SE it is not possible to use this
feature. Any technical tries to overcome this limitation would still be a
licensing violation.
Cheers,
Stefan.
