| I am having the same problems...
This was working for quite some time - the only changes made to that server
was that we installed some MS Hotfixes. Further to this - when I originally
created created the AD global security groups (to be used in CMS Site
Manager User Roles) I used an initial naming convention (ie. CMS <depnum> ).
User roles were defined for the Authors using these groups. Once it was
time to create AD global security groups for the Editors - I changed the
group naming convention of the Author groups (ie CMS A <depnum> ).
Now when I go into Site Manager-User Roles and review the group membership
of an Author - it shows the old group name and under Type it states
<unknown>. I've tried removing the unknown group and adding the new group
name -which displays properly (Type: NT Group). However, the users are
still being prompted for credentials when hitting the site.
THOUGHTS???

| Hi Allison,
this is a known bug in CMS 2002.
There is currently no fix available.
A workaround ffor the problem is to remove the affected users from all user
roles and add them again.
Cheers,
Stefan.
