| Hi Paul,
is this a 404 error or an "DNS error or host not found"?
If it is the latter, please check out the following article:
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...6a/MCMS+2002+-+(complete)+FAQ.htm#9669EEE1-B8FC-4F76-A3A9-213E7C72B635
Cheers,
Stefan.

| Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your reply.
Actually I have more information now.
I can upload gif-files, word-documents but no pdf-files.
It seems cms doesn't recognize pdf's?
How does the attachment recognizing mechanism works and how can I setup cms
that pdf-files are recognized?
Try reinstalling ??? ;-)
Greetz,
Paul

| Hi Paul,
no. CMS does not bother of file types.
CMS can be used with all types.
Do you have a 3rd party filter in IIS installed which might prevent PDF
uploading?
You should download filemon from www.sysinternals.com to check if the file
is successfully uploaded to the CMS servers temp directory and to check if
there is a problem by getting this picked up by the CMS service to import
into the repository.
Cheers,
Stefan.

| Stefan,
The pdf-file is not uploaded to the cache directory (CMS Temp Directory of
Cache Directory is D:\Temp\CMSCache\rdonlyres)
When uploading for a word document the last line in file monitor is:
16:27:42 explorer.exe:1672 CLOSE
D:\Temp\CMSCache\rdonlyres\MCMS2002EWL03
chcgtctzavbumklhjexiawtamslnikffm.DO
C SUCCESS
This works perfectn idem dito with other file types.
When uploading a pdf-file the last line in file monitor is:
16:32:57 iexplore.exe:3088 CLOSE D:\Documentation\eBiz\MCMS
2002\PDFs\MCMS2002EW_StudentManual.pdf SUCCESS
There is no line in file monitor that refers to the cms temp dir at all.
I have installed Adobe Reader 6.0 on my xp machine.
I did not install any additional isapi filters to iis.
The following filters are installed:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetsrv\sspifilt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetsrv\compfilt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetsrv\md5filt.dll
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management
Server\Server\bin\REHTMLPackager.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetsrv\pwsdata.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\40\bin\fpexedll.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_filter.dll
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management
Server\Server\bin\REAuthFilt.dll
Any other suggestions?
Thx,
Paul

| Hi Paul,
I would suggest to take a netmon trace to see what's going on on the wire.
If you have trouble to analyze the trace, you can send it to me:
webmaster@stefan-gossner.de
Cheers,
Stefan.
