How do I uninstal CMS2002?
|

| I installed cms2002 a while back and now a client is ready to move
forward. I try to open up Site Manager and get the following error:
Error: 4300
Description: The license configured for this server is invalid. This
error may occur because of an expired evaluation license or a corrupt
license key. You must re-install Microsoft Content Management Server
to replace your license key.
Severity: 5
Source: Source: AEServerObject.dll licensecache.cpp 137
Debug info:
Extra info:
Client Source: Login::ctlLogin_Click
Recommended Action:
I don't have the evaluation version so I assume the license key has
become corrupt. I can't find anywhere to uninstal so I tried to instal
over and I can't do that because I get a message saying that it won't
instal because my installed version is newer (1a patch).
I also just assume re-install because the client requires us to use vs
2003 and my local version was setup to work with 2002.
Any advice? Just start deleting files/dropping databases and searching
the registry until it installs?
By the way I have no entry in control pannel-> Add/Remove Programs for
CMS2002 nor is there an uninstal option in my Programs -> cms menue.
Any help would be appreciated.

| Hi Brett,
CMS 2002 can be uninstalled using Control Panel - Add and Remove programs.
If this entry is not there, then something already went wrong during
install!
Please try the following commands:
msizap T {4EBC8ED6-7B84-4BDD-B9CE-C502DAF2663D}
(this will uninstall Woodgrove)
and
msizap T {86645264-A6A8-4791-B34A-0F00C003499C}
(this will uninstall CMS 2002)
msizap is a tool is part of the Windows Install SDK that can be downloaded
from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload...msdk/sdkupdate/
Cheers,
Stefan.

| Hi Brett, the one good thing about MSCMS 2001 & 2002 is that it's extremely
portable. We have had to move the database from server to server in order to
do testing and migration steps to ensure that we plan correctly. The
database is key, if you have a good copy of the DB, you can basically
rebuild CMS on another server and repoint (provided that you move any other
files like templates and what not too) This has been a saving grace for us
when we have had to do knife-edge cutovers within our production environment
to redeploy on new equipment (lease returns) While this won't help your
situation, at least it's encouraging to know that all is not lost at the
moment.
