Hello,

I have a question regarding working with the DataSetPlaceholder in the MSIB
2.1 Framework.

I currently use a rich product template to update commerce server attributes
via the CMS console. Using the web interface I'm able to leverage the
workflow of CMS before the data actually get inserted into my product
properties in Commerce Server. My question is dealing with programmatically
inserting data into the DataSetPlaceholder and have it go through the CMS
workflow.

The DataSetPlaceholder has an dataset property which exposes my product
attributes, but it seems that the dataset is only populated when the
actually status of the page is not "published." So if I run a script which
locates the placeholder and tries to bind the DataSet to a DataGrid, it
throws and error complaining about having an empty DataSet. But if I browse
to the actually posting using CMS and change the status to "saved" by
updating one of the fields and then go back to my script it populates that
DataSet.

So it seems as though MSIB doesn't store that dataset unless it's actually
in the workflow process. even after I have the dataset populated I try to
update it and approve it complains about the posting not being ready for
approval which makes sense because the posting has a status of "saved"

Anyhow, I've had a VERY difficult time tracking down any information on the
MSIB framework that deals with the issue I've been having. Is there anyone
out there that can shed some light on this for me or even provide a snippet
which shows how I can programmatically update the DataSetPlaceholder for
MSIB?

Thanks for the help!
