Anyone found a way to create resource galleries programmatically?

| I know the docs say that you can't do it with the api, but has someone
hacked up a solution that can do it anyway? For example with custom created
..sdo files and importing them or directly modifying the database of some
sorts?
This really is a killer for me as i would hate to ask our clients to
manually create 1000+ resource galleries and import 5000+ images, not to
mention name them properly, if i could write a simple program that could do
it in an hour.
Perhaps in SP2
Using MCMS2002 sp1a(asp.net only) on Windows 2003 Server...
Thanks

| Hi T,
if you do this you will loose any chance to get support from Microsoft for
your solution in the future.
This feature will most likely not be in SP2 or in any further service pack
of the current version of the product.
Sorry.
Stefan.

| Hi Stefan,
thanks for the reply even though i was hoping for another answer... hope the
clients like dropping&dragging a lot of files
Perhaps you could tell me why there isn't a .net way of working with the
site deployment api and only a com-based api? I saw there was a com interop
file for site deployment already that MS must be using somehow.. is this
another undocumented thing?
Thanks
T. Schmidt
PS: love your blog!

| Hi T,
anthing there not being documented is undocumented. ;-)
site deployment is intended to be scripted. Script languages are currently
VBS and JavaScipt. Both can only use COM components and not managed
components.
For this reason only a COM based API was provided.
Cheers,
STefan.
