I have been furiously plowing through the internet to get customization
information for the CMS Connector controls......and I think the public
boards here may have given the answer but i wanted to post to be sure. I am
a SharePoint developer myself so please bear with me as I go cross community
with this post.......

1) Is it true that there is no way to
a] customize the search query that the InputControl sends. I want to
restrict searches to specific channels depending on where the search is
coming from.

and

b] change the layout and behaviuour of the ResultsControl? The modifier
name and date are irrelevant to an external user.

2) If not where are some resources where one could learn how to customize
these controls becaue the Spark CHM is lacking

3) If not has anyone started in on a solution that may want to combine
forces? (Stefan I have sent you an email already)

I thank you in advance for any postings on the matter and thank you for your
patience for a tech a bit out his element but obliged because of a project.

Unfortunately you can only modify the SPS connector controls via CSS changes (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\Server\IIS_CMS\WssIntegration\Sty
les). You will not be able
to change the input control to the extend that you have described.

I believe there will be examples published on gotdotnet on how to create your own SPS connector controls to provide full customization. However, custom SPS connector controls will only be
supported by Microsoft support team in the form of Advisory case.
