Author TCP Ports for SPS communication

Hi all,

I'm integrating MCMS 2002 and SPS 2001, to implement search functionality.

I'm reading this article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...ml/mcmssrch.asp

The questions are:
1) What ports have to be opened between the SPS server and the MCMS (web) server?
2) There sample uses "Interop.PKMCDO.dll". I think this is a wrapper for a SPS COM object. Is it right?
If so... Has SPS to be installed on the same machine that runs MCMS (that uses "Interop.PKMCDO.dll") ?

Thank you so much.

Bye

Hi Stefano,

the search uses an XML query sent via http to the Sharepoint server.
So only port 80 (or the port your sharepoint server is listening to) is
required.
I have never tried SPS 2001 on a remote machine, so I'm not sure if SPS
needs to exist on the CMS server or not.
At least this DLL needs to exist but I'm not sure if it can be copied or if
the complete server needs to be installed.
Maybe someone else can answer this?

Cheers,
Stefan.
