I ask as I can't find a property that allows you to set it. I'm
assuming you can as the following is a value of
myResource.UrlThumbnail, and has 'maxsize=48':

/NR/rdonlyres/EE1F0C25-88B3-4734-A76D-ABAFDEB46D03/0/hmvi4.jpg?maxsize=48&thumbnail=true

Might the only way of doing so is to alter the value from 48 to
something else?

I'm not even sure if this would work.
Afaik there is no way to achieve this.
