Author max. amount of placeholders on a template

Hi...
I've got a template that has approx. 66 custom placeholder defintiions
associated with it.
Every time a wish to save a posting generated from this template, I am
forwarded back to the login page (as definited within web.config). I'm using
forms authentication. If I comment-out a number of these custom placeholders
(about 60% of them) the posting saves successfully.
I thought that the ASPNET_WP.exe might be reaching its max. memory limit (
as specified within the machine.config) and thus recycling itself and
possibly killing the authenitication token. Not sure if that is vaible??
Anyone got any ideas
Thanks
Alistair
