Author CMS2001 problem with users in >35 AD groups

One of our customers is having problems with Microsoft CMS
2001. It occasionally occurs that people who created
a posting are not able to delete it.
We discovered that this happens when a user resides in
more that 35 Active Directory groups. We used a separate
user to test it, and succeeded in reproducing the problem.

Environment:
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server v5.0.2195 SP2 Build 2195
- Microsoft CMS 2001 version 4.1 (4,10.00.942)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition version
8.00.194

Is this a know issue? Is their a fix or setting to solve
this issue?
