Is it possible to create an API that allows other Document Management systems
to save documents into the resource gallery in MCMS? Has anyone done
something similar?

more info on my original question;

They intend to use Documentum as a document management system.
This software has a lifecycle feature which automates document routing,
workflow, and publishing. When a Document is given "published" status,
Documentum can send the document to a number of places, such as an Intranet
or Internet site. So we would need Documentum to push a document into the
resource gallery, and thus updating the version of the document on the
intranet, with no user interaction. Documentum can also convert a document to
HTML, so I'd also be interested in finding out if we could get a HTML version
of a document published as a page on the Intranet (similar to using the Web
Author integration with MS Office). Theres alot of technical considerations
that come into play, but for now I'm only interested in knowing if the MCMS
API, or a third party tool?, can handle this sort of thing.

Hi Matt,

MCMS publishing API allows to do this.
Check out the ResourceGallery and Resource objects in the reference section
in the documentation for details.

Cheers,
Stefan.
