Author Icons missing after server move.

Hi,
We have just moved our msmcs 2001 site on to a new server. Since the
move icon attachments have been coming back with 404 errors.

We have moved the security key across. We have also follow the advice
in this group about regsitry changes, MIME type and file types etc. but
to no avail.

We have even install acrobat reader, restarted the server. Created a
new posting, added an PDF attachment but still a 404 error where the
image should be.

Any ideas anyone?

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Johno

Hi John,

404 for the pdf attachments usually happen if insufficient permissions are
applied to the MCMS disk cache folder.
Please assign everyone full control and test again.

Cheers,
Stefan

Thanks for the reply.

I've check the permissions and they seem fine. The users can access the
PDF files but the icons are not showing.

How does the system turn
somefile.pdf?thumbnail=true&label=thumbnail.pdf into an image?

Regards,
Darragh

Hi Darragh,

maybe Acrobat reader is not installed on the server?
As the thumbnail is generated on the server the icon needs to be associated
with the file extension to generate this.
Or the MCMS system account does not have read permissions on the registry
key where the association is hold.

Cheers,
Stefan
