Author visual artifacts appearing for
Keith Patton

Hi,
I'm stumped by this one, posted up by one of our clients, it seems that MCMS
is incorrectly rendering html content occasionally, although i've never seen
this before, anyone else?

"I've a fair look at the areas where the visual artifact appears. It appears
in all sorts of code, new and old content, automatically generated page areas
(like the address path) and typed areas. The artifact disappears when the
Refresh button is hit, and it is not visible when normally browsing, only
when opening the page from an external link (like one in an email). This last
suggests that it is a result of some interpretation function rather than a
problem with the page itself.

After some playing I've eventually twigged that the 'Â' appears every place
(I think) an ' ' is in the html code. Why ' ' is put in the code rather than
a ' ' and only sometimes rather than always, I don't know. I do know that the
old .asp pages of our previous Intranet also had in many places, but the
'Â' did not appear."

Hi Keith,

usually if an F5 resolves the problem this indicates a browser bug.
F5 actually should retrieve the same content again. If it is rendered
differently the browser is causing the problem.
A network monitor trace would proof this.

Cheers,
Stefan
