| I have a win 2003 box with VS 2003 and VS2005, SQL 2005 developer edition,
when I launch mcms setup, chose to setup all components, , I get the
following message "Software requirements The following minimum
prerequisite........."and of course "Next" button is greyed out so I can only
click on Cancel or back button.
------------------------------------------
microsoft Java Vm 5 or higher
VS.Net not found needed by dev tools

Thanks in advance

| Hi,
Salam, this is a known issue.
MCMS 2002 RTM does not support Window 2003 properly.
Use the following steps to successfully install MCMS:
- install MCMS 2002 Server component only (no SiteManager, no SiteStager, no
VS.NET developer tools)
- install MCMS 2002 SP1a
- use control panel - add/remove programs - MCMS - change and add the
updated version of the above listed components
- now intall MCMS 2002 SP2 (if you would like to support VS.NET 2005).
Cheers,
Stefan

| So many thanks. I followed your instructions and setup went correct except
for configuring the DB. I created a new DB in sql 2005 called MCMS_Admin,
when I try to point the configuration tool with sa or administrator login I
get SQL client not found message box".
Also you indicate SP2, I didn't manage to grab it on the microsoft site
thanks again

| Hi Salam,
MCMS 2002 does not know VS.NET 2003 or 2005 (as you can see in the year
numbers of the products)
To ensure that MCMS 2002 supports VS.NET 2003 you need to have MCMS 2002 SP1
or higher installed.
To ensure that MCMS 2002 supports VS.NET 2005 you need to have MCMS 2002 SP2
installed.
The following steps will help you to install MCMS 2002 with VS.NET 2003 or
2005:
- install MCMS 2002 server component only (no SiteManager, no SiteStager, no
VS.NET developer tools)
- install MCMS 2002 SP1a
- use Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - MCMS - Change/Remove
- Add the updated version of Site Manager, Site Stager and VS.NET 2003
developer tools
To support VS.NET 2005 you then need to install MCMS 2002 SP2.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Hi Salam,
with integrated authentication the user running the DCA requires DBO rights
on the SQL database. Just adding this right to a AD/NT group is not
sufficient! You need to add the user explicitly.
With SQL authentication the SQL user requires DBO rights.
If this does not help it might be the first problem in the following
article:
