Maybe you removed permission for Resources in Site Manager.

So, please, check if the user, that you use to browse the web site, has
browsing permission for resources.

Hi Kyong,

If you right click on the images, then get the URL and try to browse
directly to it; what error message are you getting?

Regards

this started when I restored a database from the staging environment to the
development environment. Another thing is that that I think the original
user when you do the install doesn't exist anymore and I wanted to swap it
out somehow.

Now I can't even log in anonymously. I can't browse to the image using the
url either. Suggestions?

Hi Kyong,

seems the database in your staging environment had different user
assignements in the rights groups.
You need to adjust all assignments including the guest user which is
configured in the SCA.

Cheers,
Stefan.

that's what I think since I can access everything EXCEPT resources. I tried
a few things but nothing resolved. When I tried to insert an image from the
shared gallery, I couldn't access the preview of the resources. Bit odd.

any thoughts? What user manages the resource gallery? is it different than
the other galleries? that'd be odd I think..

Hi Kyong,

that depends on what you configured. It's up to you!
Check the rights groups for the resources in SiteManager.

Cheers,
Stefan

oh, I never got this fixed and isn't all too high on the priority list..
BUT it is bugging the crap out of me..

so same as before, but also noting that images uploaded from local images
don't show either.. it's not a permission setting in site manager as I gave
full resources branch permission to subscribers as well. I'm logging in as
an admin user too!

any clues? I suppose I can re-install it since it's just the dev machine..
but I'd like to know what's going on under the hood.. =)

Hi Kyong,

if local images are also affected, then it is most likely an invalid
permission settiing on the MCMS disk cache.
Please download filemon from www.sysinternals.com and check all file
accesses to the disk cache.

Cheers,
Stefan.

well I tried using filemon then after not understanding what was going on
there, I tried changing the location of the disk cache through the SCA.
Then it worked!! yeah stefan!!

thanks a bunch..
