Author Lock status and page status
Diana

Hello.
At the authoring site, there is a channel has Author and Moderator, but no
Editor assigned. When the Author makes a change to an existing page then
saves and submits it. The Page Status changes to "Waiting for Moderator
Approval" and the Lock Status changes to "Not Locked". If I swtich to the
Production Site now, I could see the newly updated page has already been
published though its Page Status still says "Waiting for Moderator Approval".
Shouldn't the Lock Status be "authorname" instead of "Not Locked" after the
Author submits the page?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Diana,

what kind of changes are your authors doing to the page?
Updating content should not cause the page to go to waiting for moderator
approval anyway.
Do you have custom workflow events implemented or custom console actions?

Cheers,
Stefan.

Hi Stefan,

It was content update on the page by the author. I think we use custom
workflow (I'm new to the CMS product and was not involved in the development
process) and there are custom properties set up on all of the channels
(Editor, Moderator, and Administrator). And on this particular channel,
there are values (user names) for the Moderator and Administrator fields, but
the Editor has no value. No Editor is assigned for this channel.

I go to the custom property by right-clicking on the channel from Site
Manager, select Properties, then Custom tab.

Thanks!

Hi Diana,

Custom properties are just properties. They are not related to the user
righs. Please have a look in the Rights tab and check which users are
assigned - not on the custom properties tab.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Hi Stefan,
The users that are assigned to this channel are: Authors, Moderators, and
Subscribers. Thanks.

Hi Diana,

please disable all workflow events and custom console actions and verify if
the behaviour changes.
The behaviour you are seeing is not as expected and not reproducable on my
machines. So I think it is being caused by either a custom console action or
a custom workflow event.

Cheers,
Stefan.
