In CMS 2002, I used a combination of StringBuilder objects, CMS Context
object JavaScript, CSS and HTML to create my pull down menu system. This all
worked fine but was alot of nasty code. Especially to fly out and in the
menus for fast navigators. Not to mention removing the menu link if the user
did not have access to the channel.

Anyway, I am all for enhancements and I see now where Telerik has a menu
system that can speed up my future new developments. But I'm not too excited
yet. I was wondering if Telerik is integrated with CMS's Context and
Security objects enough to show or hide links that the user in CMS has does
not have access to?

Thanks

Stefan: An example would be great!

Tom

Hi Tom,

I did not yet have time to work with the telerik controls so I don't have
sample code available.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Tom,

Yes the telerik radMenu (MCMS Edition) does work exactly the same way you
would normally use your MCMS menu ie:
- Is Mode sensitive ie. published/unpublished mode;
- Shows what the current user can see

There were a few issues with the RTM (ie. not being able to drill through on
Channels/refreshing on mode change) but in my experience the Telerik team
have been extremely good in getting out hotfixes etc.

Regards

Angus:

I have a few questions that I hope you don't mind answering.

What does RTM stand for?
Do you mean to say that Telerik has two different menu purchases? One for
CMS (CMS Edition) and the other just a regular menu system?

Also, do you have a .NET CMS/Menu example I can play around with?

Hi Tom,

about your RTM question:
RTM = Release to manufacturing. This is the original product version without
any service packs.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Tom,

The telerik suite (www.mcmscontrols.com) comes with an extensive sample
site.
