Author NT Groups failing for Approvers Collection

Stefan or anyone...
When attempting UserCollection approvers = posting.Approvers(true); and I
have a NT GROUP in the list of Editors Cms Rights Group, it throws a
CmsServerException.

I tried installing the hotfixes that you've outlined in your link
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...6a/MCMS+2002+-+(complete)+FAQ.htm#0816895C-5D1D-4DE8-91E7-ADB0508310D0
but non of them worked. What is causing this and how can it be resolved?

Do you have a working solution? Those articles do not solve the problem.
Thanks in advance with your solution as always.

Also wanted to add that I also installed the hotfix 828278 and this did NOT
resolve the problem...

Hi Ramzi,

this is the only known reason for this issue.
Please open a support case to get this analyzed.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan, please look at the parameter being passed to the
posting.Approvers(doExpandUserGroups).

It is defined as:
true to including all members of Microsoft Windows NT groups with rights to
approve the Posting object; false to including only Windows NT users that
have been directly assigned rights.

Do you have a whitepaper that elaborates on how a group gets resolved?
Does the SG group need to have an exchange account?

We have a Security Group as a group in the list of Approvers.

Does it make a difference if we use a Distribution List instead?

Thanks

Hi Ramzi,

there is no whitepaper on this.
This can be an AD or an NT group.
It needs to be a security group - not a distribution group.
An exchange mailbox is not required.

Cheers,
Stefan
