Author HTM doc on Generic template

I have an attachment on a generic template that I would like to use to direct
page viewers to an HTML doc containing a visio flowchart. I would then like
the viewers to be able to click on any flowchart symbol and then produce a
Word doc that explains what the symbol is supposed to represent ( hyperlink
). If I am in a live site and click on the attachment, the web page will not
open properly, and I receive a pop-up explaining that I have a syntax error
while continuously reiterating that fact. I have to kill the web page with
the task manager which causes several problems such as loss of all history in
the windows address bar. How do I find out the cause of the syntax error ?
The attachment is not resolving properly to the web document. Any ideas ?
