Problems identifying user type
|
|
|
| Hi Everybody,
I've got a application in CMS 2001 with a login page. When anybody logs in
this page the first accesible channel in a root for the logged user is
loaded in the application.
My problem is that when somebody logs in this page, every time CMS
recognizes the user like a guest user. Can somebody tell me how this
recognition is done or what can be my problem?
Thank you for your help.

| Hi Javi,
did the user authenticate against the web server?
If not, then the server does not know who is browsing the site and if the
page can be seen by a guest the current user will be seen as the guest user.
If the page is not allowed to be seen by a guest MCMS will send a response
that it requires authentication to the browser.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Hi Stefan,
This application is working correctly in another server. The only thing I
have done is to put it in another server but using the existing Database
that uses the well working application.
It happens another thing too. If I run the application in the server, it
recognizes me the users, but if I use the application from another computer,
happens what I've explained before.
My doubt is if the problem can be of the MCMS configuration or of my new
Server Configuration.
Thank you,

| Hi Javi,
which authentication method are you using?
Windows or forms authentication?
Does the guest account have rights on the posting?
Cheers,
Stefan
