SP1a Resource Manager. Big problems
|
|
| Punisher 2005-07-26, 7:56 am |
| We upgraded to SP1a over the weekend. We are not experiencing some strange
behavior.
Using the Resource Manager link, when it opens, we get an error.
"Input string was not in a correct format"
The Default Resource Channel property is set to a specifc channel. If I
clear it, the error goes away. If I set it back to the specific gallery, it
errors again. If I set it to a different gallery, it works but it's not going
to the gallery I set it to.
Something is wrong.

| Hi Punish,
you need to install the following hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...KB;EN-US;827177
Cheers,
Stefan

| Ok great, but it's not the same error or the same steps to produce it.
Will it still fix?

| I do see this line: When you use Web Author, MCMS may select the wrong
resource gallery. Therefore, the wrong gallery is expanded. If the selected
resource gallery is a child of this incorrectly expanded gallery, an
exception error occurs when you add a resource to the current page.

| "This problem occurs when you enable the Default Resource Gallery option in
MCMS 2002 if the parent resource gallery of the resource gallery that you
want to use contains more than 10 galleries."
Ours is only 5 galleries deep.

| Hi Punisher,
I would suggest to try it anyway. It is the only known bug in this area.
Cheers,
Stefan
