Is Remote Desktop Web Connection necessary??
|
|
|
| I have installed MCMS as per the Microsoft Solution for Internet Business
"Installing Web Servers Guide" version 2.5. When configuring IIS it asks you
to install the Remote Desktop Web Connection which it states is required by
MCMS. I am concerned from a security perspective of installing this on web
facing servers. Is it really necessary and why? Any advice would be
gratefully appreciated.

| Hi Jake,
MCMS does not require this.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Hi Stefan
The CMS servers are actually live now. Would I be able to remove that
component of IIS, delete the virtual directory or restrict it in some way.
What would you recommend? Many thanks.

| Hi Jake,
I have never installed it myself. I would suggest to uninstall it.
Cheers,
Stefan
