Tree view dont work when creating a new page

| Hi There
i had a problem when i create a new page by using the tree view. it is
working ok if there is empty(no existing posting) in the channel i want
to creat the new page in, otherwise,the tree view is not showing up and
therefore i couldnot lacate the template.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
