We have purchased the Enterprise Edition of CMS and all we have found on
documentation on the upgrade is that it's "Seemless". Great that doesn't
help me. We tried to install it but it installed Service Pack 1A (Which we
thought was already on it) and then it restarted IIS.

Anyone know how the upgrade works!??!
Thanks

I don't think you can just install enterprise over the top.
I have done it in the past by first uninstalling the standard edition.
Keep all the prerequite installs in place. Then install enterprise edition-
it's easiest if you have the install including SP1a.
When the Database Configuration Application runs you have to point the new
install at your existing db and website(s).
BUT be sure to backup the db/websites first just incase.
Hope this helps.

Hi all,

installing Enterprise Edition does not require uninstall of Standard
Edition.
Please verify on the license tab of the SCA if you have now Standard Edition
or Enterprise Edition installed.

Seemlessly does not mean that IIS will not be stopped and started! It just
means that you don't have to uninstall MCMS Standard Edition.

Cheers,
Stefan
