Author DevTools for VS.NET 2005 missing after installing MCMS SP2

Hi,
I am to develop a MCMS site using my new laptop, and have installed MCMS
2002 Developer Edition, SP1a and SP2. VS.NET 2005 is also installed, but
previous versions of VS.NET have never been installed on this machine.

After installation of SP2, I was about to do the post operations necessary
to install the project and item templates from the DevTools folder, but the
folder is plainly missing. I have tried reinstalling SP2 with no luck.

In VS.NET, Microsoft Content Management Server is missing from the Tools
menu.

Anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks!
Helge

Hello Helge,

You need to un-install MCMS SP2.
Install VS.NET 2003 (yes - I'm afraid so)
Then re-install MCMS SP2 and follow the post install steps.

(after that you can remove VS.NET 2003)

Thanks for your quick reply!
The procedure isn't exactly pretty, but I guess I'll just have to bite the
bullet...

forgot to mention.... after the install of vs.net 2003 but before you run
SP2 again, you'll need to do an add/remove programs on MCMS SP1a to install
the developer tools.
