Author Image Size problem with publishing.

Hi,
I have a CMS Website. My problem is when the client tries to publish content
with images which is not within the Placeholder width, horizontal scrollbars
appear. Is there any way we can control this from happening?

Regards,
Soni

Hi Sam,

are you talking about authoring mode or presentation mode?
Are you talking about a HtmlPlaceholderControl?
During Authoring mode the HtmlPlaceholderControl always renders in the size
configured on the template.
If the image exceeds the size of the configured placeholder control
scrollbars will show up.
But this will only happen during authoring mode. After saving the image
should show up in full size without scroll bars.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,

I am talking of Presentation mode and HTMLPlaceholder. Basically if the
width of the HTMLPlaceholder is set to say EdiControlWidth=400px and if the
size of the image exceeds then in presentation mode the horizontal scroll
bars will show.

How can we control this.

Regards,
Soni

Hi Sam,

I have never seen this.
Actually this property does not have influence on the presentation mode.
See the following paragraph from the MCMS docs:

public function set EditControlWidth(int);
Property Value
The width in pixels of the component that handles rich editing on the client
side.

Remarks
This only sets the dimensions of the client side ActiveX edit control used
when authoring and has no effect on the display of the HTML at presentation
time.

Are you using a custom placeholder control?

Cheers,
Stefan
