Author Changing Posting State within Approved Event

Hi does anyone know if it is possible to change the posting state of a
current posting within the CmsPosting_Approving event..my problem is
that we have extended the workflow so that when editors approve
postings it cancels the event and sends an email to a super editor..All
works fine if an author creates and submits posting and the state is
held at waiting for Editor Approval when the editor clicks Approve.
However if an editor creates the posting and then just clicks approve
instead of submit then the cancel event keeps the posting state as
Saved resulting in the posting never appearing in the super editors
Approval Assistant. What i want to do is instead of cancelling change
the state to Waiting for Editor Approval...Can i do this or am i better
just hiding the approve option while in save state if this is
possible...

thanks
Angela

Hi Angela,

no this is not possible.
I would suggest to remove the approve action from the console if the item is
not in Waiting for Editor approval state.
Then submit has to be used first.

Cheers,
Stefan
