Proper Security Setup for NR virtual directory
|
|
|
| Hey Stefan,
I couldn't get into site manager today and realized that the problem
was that I had changed the password on a SQL account that had access to
the mscms_repository database. Where would site manager be using a
connection string with a sql account as the userid and password?
While I was looking, I noticed that all my NR virtual directories are
setup differently, yet they all still work. Some have Integrated
Security turned on and some have it off. Some have anonymous access
enababled and some have it turned off. Some have my domain account for
the anonymous user while others have the server's IUSR account.
What are the recommended security settings for the NR directory? Will
it be different on my development machine where the IIS environment is
setup automatically when you create a solution with Visual Studio?
Thanks,
John

| .....Could some of these settings be causing the "Buffering data is
needed" error that get when trying to import an .sdo package in me
development environment?
Thanks,
John

| Hi John,
the security whitepaper explains how to setup the directories:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en
In addition you specify in the DCA whether to use SQL or integrated
authentication.
Cheers,
Stefan
