Does IE7 Render Pages Served By MS CMS?
|
|

| I downloaded IE 7, Version 7.0.0.5730.11 and visited my MS CMS site as an
external visitor. All the pages served up by MS CMS appear very broken. Most
images and styles are not being displayed and some links become broken. We
have some .NET applications that are using the same basic HTML and CSS but
outside of the MS CMS and those applications display and behave correctly on
IE 7.
Is there a known problem viewing MS CMS sites with IE 7?
Any ideas on what the problem could be? The site looks fine on IE 6 and
Firefox.
Also does anyone know when IE7 is going to be distributed via the Windows XP
automatic updates system? I'm worried that 90% of my users will soon not be
able to view or use our site.
Thanks.

| Hi Ninerfan,
MCMS does not serve pages.
This is done by ASP.NET.
MCMS has only some controls on these ASP.NET pages to allow editing and to
send content.
In addition: no this is not a known issue. All the sites I have seen work
correct.
Looks like a problem with your specific template code.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Thanks Stefan.
If I'll get our IT staff looking into it. If you have a chance would you
mind trying to visit our site while using IE 7 and let me know if you also
see a partially rendered page?

| Hi Ninerfan,
the page renders completly (I can see as well the <html> and the </html>
tag.
But the images and other resources loaded from http://www.hnfs.net:81/...
do not load.
I can see a timeout when trying to access the image.
Cheers,
Stefan
