I have 2 SQL Enterprise Servers and I have implemented Log Shipping. I
have it working but there is one thing I came across. If I set the
database that contains the CMS Schema to 'StandBy' when configuring log
shipping the CMS site wont work. Here are the sequence of events.
The schedule log shipped happened of the data from server 1 to server
2. I then ran DCA and pointed CMS to the second server (the one on
stand by), I then got an error saying the db is in read mode and CMS
wont work. MY question is why doesnt it work, I thought CMS is just
'reading' from the database, so why cant it be in read mode. This
server does not to be read/write.
Any ideas?
Or is the option and requirement is that the log shipping be configured
to be in Recovery mode?
