Author Can't install MCMS on SPS 2003 server - needs these components?

I tried installing the MCMS SP1a eval version on my SPS2003 server. It won't
install, and lists components that it says I need.

Initially it listed server side includes and ASP, which I added and they
came off the list.

Next was IE Web Controls, which I installed according to the download instructions
(build.bat and xcopy). But it's still on the list. What is it looking for?

This is what I get:

You have chosen to perform a complete installation; however, the following
component(s) cannot be installed due to dependencies on applications that
are not installed on this computer:

- Need Internet Explorer Web Controls (required by MCMS Server)
- Need Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003 (required by Developer Tools for
Visual Studio.NET 2003)
- Need Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2002 (required by Developer Tools for
Visual Studio.NET 2002)
- Need Microsoft Visual J# .NET Redistributable Package Version 1.1 (required
by Site Manager and Site Stager)

Does it really need VS.NET 2002 and/or VS.NET 2003??? I don't want or need
these on my server. (It also means I need a license for them for the server,
when no one will be using them there....)

I thought this would be an easy install....

Hi JJ,

obviously you installed the wrong version of the IE Webcontrols.
Only the following version can be used:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&DisplayLang=en

Cheers,
Stefan

Nice of Microsoft to list this in their support site! We've spent days researching this issue, and the proper download has been on the download site all along, but good luck finding it with searches of the support site! Thanks, M$!
